I really enjoy this watch. The time is always correct and no more need to throw away my watch solar power takes care of that. No More Batteries. It's sleek and has a little bulk. A little smaller than expected, but perfect size for me. The lighting is not a full glow so which is different than I'm used to, but still good enough to see everything. I can't say enough on how pleased I am with this purchase. With the atomic timing and Solar power I'll make my money back in no time.

This is a great watch, but it is not without its drawbacks. I find that its ability to receive the atomic clock transmissions is weak. I must hang the watch on my venetian blinds on the west side of the house or it does not receive the signal. I previously had a Timex watch that was able to pick up the atomic clock transmissions when I would leave it on my bureau every night. It is disappointing that the Casio watch can't receive the signal as easily. Another small beef is with the size of the three LCD digital cicrles. They could be a little larger. Otherwise, I like the look and feel of the watch and enjoy wearing it.

Casio's AWG100-1A is an excellent selection IF you have an average to small size wrist. This is NOT a large watch like many currently in vogue. The overall width of the stainless steel case (exclusive of the rubber protection) is a mere 40mm, which used to be considered a full-sized man's watch -- no longer. Today, a 40mm watch is considered "unisex." The black rubber protection (armor) adds another 7mm to the overall diameter, which gives the watch more presence. The diameter of the mineral lens is a approximately 35mm, which is smallish. Nevertheless the white skeletal hands, face markings on the charcoal gray dial, and 3 sub-dials (ports) are very adequate and the information they contain is legible. The night light is very not uniform but acceptable. The watch has a 200 meter WR and appears to be very well constructed and durable -- as G-Shocks should be. The watch is very "classic" in appearance is has no pretenses of being ultra-techy. At a street price of just over $80 for a G-Shock Solar-Atomic, this is a great buy. This could be a perfect "beater" that would be great for all but the most formal occasions. You cannot beat Casio's dependability. For me, this is a keeper.

The watch was my first CASIO G-Shock watch and I absolutely love it. It's comfortable, lightweight, and has a very attractive and mature aspect to it because although its sporty, it had a analog interface with a small digital clock in the center-left. In terms of battery life and functionality, the watch is able to stay at the highest battery level (there's five, level one being the highest) for days without the presence of real outdoor sunlight. Another neat thing about the product is that the default settings have the power-saving function enabled which means it will turn off when placed away in a dark area for a certain amount of time and it re-activates easily at the exact local time. Overall, a great product at a great price!

I've only had the watch a few days but my impression is very positive. It is a little thicker than I expected, but I believe that comes from being in the g-shock line. It is very good looking, as I'd hoped it would be from the pictures. Overall this is a win for Casio, and I'm glad to have bought it.
Pros: Durable and good looking. It looks like you could drive on this thing and still find it ticking away. I worried about going to the rubber band, as I haven't had one of those in a long time, but I find it fits well, and looks like it will hold up very well over time. It is solar and atomic, so there won't be much fiddling necessary to keep it running and accurate. The light shines brightly enough and with the raised tick edge with the second marks it is very easy to see the time. It has an alarm, a countdown timer, and a stopwatch function which cover most of the basic needs I had.
Cons: There are a few cons, though none so big as to make me regret the purchase. The light does not stay on long, even if you hold the button down. I suppose this is to prevent a power drain even if it is wedged against something that is holding the light on, but I would think it could stay on for 10 or 20 seconds if you were holding it down. The atomic clock receiver seems very weak. It has a lot of trouble receiving updates, and I don't have a north-facing window in a convenient spot. I expect that it will synchronize enough that this will not be a big issue, but it is something I may keep an eye on. The 'glow' paint on the dials and hour marks is just not very powerful. I can't really see them unless I go from a very bright spot to a completely dark room instantly. They do not charge with the led light that I can tell at all. As mentioned by someone else, it is completely unnecessary to have a digital 'dial' dedicated to displaying the atomic clock last synchronized to. it would have been more useful to have the date in one, and day in the other, or some other more useful info. I will _always_ be syncing to US60. I do not need something to tell me that. I wish it had a second-hand... just my personal preference. These are a lot of little gripes, but this is still probably the closest to ideal in this price category.
The biggest problem I see is that it will be very hard to kill this watch to justify a new one someday. If you want a tough, low-maintenance watch with some good features, this looks like a winner.
